Welcome to ESL Small Talk!

Hello to my wonderful ESL students!

As you all know I am a student myself and you all have graciously been helping me with several of my assignments. One of those assignments is to create this blog (this page) as a means for us to communicate about subjects that interest us.

One thing that I know very little about is your current use of the internet. Have you ever visited a blog before? Until I created this page, I had not! Blogging is simply responding to an ongoing conversation that we all can read on this web-page.

I'm looking forward to reading your entries or posts!

~Natalie

  5. Stephanie,
Congratulations on being the first student from the center in Loveland to respond to this blog! Thanks for joining in the conversation. I hope you'll check-in every few days to see if anyone else has added to the conversation. This is new for me as well. I've done a little on facebook, but don't know all the ropes.

  6. By the way...our conversation class on Tuesday, April 27th will be going to DazBog Coffee shop. I have reserved the back room for our class. Special offer-I will treat those who come to something at the coffee shop for helping me with this blog. Hope you can come!

  7. Hi Natalie,

This is my first blog-visit. Your page looks very nice. A visitor has posted a prompt to another site, which is how I think blogs expand and network. Good job!

  14. Wow! This is great! And we even have Dyna on here now! As you can tell, I'm very excited!

I hope you all enjoyed meeting at the coffee shop as much as I did.

So...here's a website to check out for many English listening activities that is a lot of fun. After you check it out, come back to this blog and tell us all what you liked or didn't like.

  15. Hi Natalie,
Congrats on setting up a blog. It was my first choice, but, honestly, seemed too intimidating for the time allowed. So those of you who did it - KUDOS. It's like buying earrings; you get to keep using them. Hope you keep it active and that your students (and others) find it fun.

  16. sorry I couldnt go yesterday to the conversation class but I saw the page and is very interesting. They have good links and is esay to join and participe of them.
I stard to study inglish in Colombia with a website and they are really good!

They only think they I dont like is the fact of studying alone, cuz for me I learn more when Im with people around me and a teacher. But is a good start to take the other step.

  18. Stephanie,
I'm like you. I prefer learning in a classroom with other people, but online learning can add to our classroom learning and is very convenient. Glad that you found some useful websites to visit!

  21. Cteii,
Great to have you join our blog! This proves that my directions worked! I hope you were able to view the other posts where I provided links to websites for ESL learners. I look forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks. I'm off to Arizona to see one of my son's graduate from college.
